Athletes interested in competing a stunt routine under MONCAD can apply using the Expression of Interest form. Priority will be given to current MONCAD athletes, subject to the discretion of the MONCAD Committee and coaches. Monash alumni can also apply, but will only be allowed to compete under MONCAD if there are sufficient resources available and subject to the discretion of the MONCAD Committee and coaches.
There are no university divisions, so you will be competing against All Star athletes. It is the responsibility of athletes to seek approval from their All Star club to compete in a MONCAD stunt, if required by their club.
Stunt Group divisions are divided into CoEd and All Girl, and into level (levels 2 - 7 available), and a group may have four or five athletes. Assisted Partner Stunts must have three athletes and follow the IASF stunt rules, and divisions are divided into level (levels 2 - 7 available). Partners Stunts are divided into level (levels 2 - 7 available).
There are no level cross over rules, but you can only compete in two stunt routines per competition (e.g. 1 partner stunt and 1 group stunt, or 2 group stunts).
Competing in stunts is only recommended for experienced athletes who are able to choreograph their own level-appropriate routine.
Things you will need to arrange (MONCAD can assist on request, but will primarily be your responsibility):
Other people to complete your stunt/group;
Choreography for your routine, ensuring it is safe, level-appropriate, and high-scoring;
A level-appropriate credentialed coach present for warm-up and performance;
A training and filming venue;
Music for your routine;
Permission from your All Star club (if required);
Completing MONCAD registration and providing all documents, fees and video submissions requested by MONCAD in a timely manner;
Time to rehearse and film your brilliant routine!

Our dance duos compete in Pom, Jazz and Hip Hop. Each duo is selected by the coaches from the relevant premier team, so we don't take expressions of interest.
Athletes will need to be self-driven to create and rehearse the routine, although some guidance may be given by MONCAD coaches. They will also need to proactively manage the administrative side of being in a duo, including arranging music, researsal time and space, and completing all paperwork requested by MONCAD in a timely manner.
